Schumacher protecting his Front Wing from Photographers (something is fishy)
Mar24
After Schumacher’s crash during Practice 3 from the Melbourne GP last weekend, he was trying to move all photographers away in the hope they would not get a picture from the bottom of the front wing.
Luckily for the rest of the world, he did not succeed.
Here’s one of the shots what they still where able to make:

Mercedes GP Illegal DRS-activated F-Duct Controversy
Mar19
Could Ross Brawn be at it again? Did he find a serious loophole in the 2012 regulations to boost the team by what some teams have called an “illegal” F-Duct system? F-Ducts are banned in the sport, but somehow Mercedes GP managed to create a system on they’re car what gives them still the F-Duct effect, and they have used it during the 2012 Australian Grand Prix. It’s surely a boost, because both cars did very well during qualifying last grand prix. They ended up higher than last year and looked suddenly pretty strong.

The upcoming days several teams will discuss this new system with Charlie Whiting to make sure it’s within the 2012 regulations. If so, other teams will have to make such system as well, in order to stay in front of the Mercedes GP team.
It’s clear they have had some kind of advantage by using the system, which is said to be still a “driver-activated” aerodynamical change on the car, what should be illegal in the 2012 F1 regulations.
We’ll keep an eye on this F-duct system from Mercedes GP.

‘Schumacher is a different driver now’
Feb29
![]()
Former Williams driver Riccardo Patrese believes that there has been a small change in Michael Schumacher since his retirement and that is all that it takes for a drop in performance.
Having turned out in F1 from 1977 to 1993, Patrese certainly has seen a number of champions in his time, one of whom is Schumacher who entered the sport in 1991.
The German has gone on to win seven World titles but after returning to F1 in 2010 following a three-year absence has not been able to hit the same highs. It has been suggested that his struggles are the result of the fact that the standard of driving is higher now than it was in the past. Patrese refutes this, believing instead that the German is a fraction slower now.
“Michael raced against drivers like Senna, Mansell and myself and proved immediately that he could be competitive and better,” the Italian wrote on his personal website.
“Now we have drivers like Hamilton and Vettel who look very good but I don’t think they are better than Senna, Mansell or the drivers that were around when Michael started in F1, so I think Michael is a little below the level of performance compared to his very best.
“Michael proved himself against the best when he started in Formula One so if he can’t match the best today perhaps it is because he does not have the best car, but in the past without the right car he was able to make the difference; now he can’t make the difference. If he had the best car now he could still win races, but in the past, even without the best car, he could win.
“Today he is a good driver but he cannot make the same difference as he could in the past from what I have seen at the beginning of this year and last year. You know how much I respect Michael and his talent but from what I have seen this is not the same Michael as before his retirement. I have my doubts about whether this is because of the tyres or the new regulations. Maybe his motorcycle and neck injury has had an effect in some small way. The difference can be very, very small but there seems to be a difference.”

Schumacher or Showmacher – Schumacher’s Doppelganger
Feb29
“
A lot of fans will think Michael is a traitor but I will explain to them it is not Michael but another one ”
Luca di Montezemolo
Ferrari president (2009)
Back in 2009 Schumacher announced his return to F1. However it was rumoured he was replaced by a doubleganger
“I spoke to him [on Wednesday] and he told me there is a very strong possibility but that it’s not 100% decided,” Di Montezemolo said.
He said a return by Schumacher, 41 in January, would be “good for F1″.
Schumacher retired at the end of 2006 after winning five world titles with Ferrari in consecutive years from 2000-4, to add to the two he won with Benetton in 1994-5.
BBC Sport pundit Eddie Jordan revealed last month that Schumacher had had talks about a comeback with Mercedes and that it would probably happen – and now Di Montezemolo has confirmed it.
“A guy called Michael Schumacher told us at Monza (in September) he would renew his (Ferrari consultancy) contract,” Di Montezemolo said. “And it looked like his career would finish with Ferrari.
“But then there’s another one who looks like him, 40, 41 yrs old, German, same name and decided to do a new career.
“Everybody in life can do what they prefer, and I understand that there is somebody at 41 years who wants to try again.
“So I think it’s possible this twin, another Michael Schumacher, same age, same capability, some determination and spirit, will drive for Mercedes next year.”
Luca has stated this severla years ago before Schumacher started his 2010 campaign with Mercedes GP. Could he be right? Is this not the REAL Schumacher what is driving at Mercedes GP?
